Tough & Dependable |

Have owned mine since 95, it has been on hunting trips, camping trips and more hikes that I can remember. It no longer looks like the one in the picture, much of black coating has worn out, it has been sharpened about 4 times during this period, it is currently sharp enough to shave with should the need arise. The spine of the blade is so thick that I used it to cut through thick pieces of wood with help of a rock/other heavier tool. I also have what was then called a "Cold Steel Bowie" it too is a fine knife/tool but I always grab my SRK first, compact, strong and dependable, what else could someone want or need?

Bought this knife around 15 years ago. Extremely sharp and durable edge. Have field dressed and cut up 15 deer and hundreds of waterfowl without sharpening it. Guessing that the master hunter would have been a better choice for my needs. The handle gets plenty clogged with tallow but still grippy.

Great Knife |

This is a great knife. I was unsure whether 6" would be "enough," but when this blade is in hand it feels plenty large. It has a decent heft to it, feels very solid, came satisfactorily sharp out of the box. It may not have be the survival/combat equivalent of the Trail Master (at 9 1/2" and 5/16" thick) but for half the weight, this knife rocks.
