The blade is made in South Africa, the handle is well connected and rigid, overall a very tough blade. The blade comes with no edge, I suggest a bastard-kut file followed by a multi-kut file and tidy it up a bit with ceramic honing sticks.

For the price, I felt that this machete performed well. I actually got a razor edge using the Spyderco Triangle sharpener system. I collect herbs for health and well-being. It cut everything I threw at it(juniper tree branches,sage,etc..). I did add a leather loop to the handle, so it would'nt fall out of the hand so easily.
