this knife is extremely sharp, very large, heavy(for a folder), and very well built. the lock is very strong, there is no blade play at all in any direction. im really impressed with this knife. this is my first cold steel, i also have Benchmade, SOG, Spyderco, and CRKT, and i am really impressed with the quality of this knife! the only reason i gave it 4 stars is because of its weight, which really doesnt bother me. if your looking for a really tough and strong knife give this one a try!

The Brick Outhouse analogy, accurately describes this knife's feel in one's hands. This is possibly the best 'feeling' folder handle that I have. It certainly has the most heft to it and the locking mechanism gives one a feeling that this knife would not fail you for any reason. While the extention at the butt end of the knife is useful for many 'smashing' situations, I did have difficulty using it as a glass breaker (I know that this was not what it was intended for so it is my fault for assuming that it could break glass quickly.) As with any Cold Steel product, the knife comes very sharp from the factory. I recommend this knife highly!

So, Ive had the Ak-47 for a few months now. as far at the knife goes, i havnt tested blade strength as far as flexing, but as far as impact on other steel, ive had to hammer nails and bend them too and the spine is out of the box just fine. considering the lock hasnt tried to budge, the ultra lock is the only one i trust my fingers to. the picture here shows a nice aluminum silver handle, but it has a military green finish, which will rub off around the edges of the finger grooves. the grivory pommel held up when i had to bash a can lid in ( there was a flat side the opener couldnt cut). the point is very resistant to bending and dulling. the edge for the first half an inch will be damaged slightly ( still sharp, but white specks) if you open any large food cans. that time i just wanted to use the knife :p
