how can the handle be shorter than the blade of a folding knife? also, the lock is a leaf spring. a liner lock uses part of the handle to hold the blade open, a leaf spring does not, and is much tougher ( holds 130 lbs). a dagger style blade would mean its double edged. this style of blade was based off of the 1950's switchblades. the opener type of this knife is unique to this style of folder. yes, a thumb stud ,how classic. but, it has a quillion ( that piece that looks like a guard) that will snag your pocket, allowing it to be drawn and opened in one motion. this is useful in devastating self-defense without opening the blade. Cold steel thanks knife maker Phil Boguszewski for his influence.
