My first impression of this little hawk has been very good, I had high expectations, and they were met. The 5150 steel holds its edge perfectly even after I wailed on brick mortar and knotted root wood. Not exactly a hatchet, I wouldn't recommend trying to hack a tree down with this model because the handle is so small, but then again that is what makes this little guy so powerful - it's so light and quick in the hand. If you think you are gonna be an extreme user, I would look at another version with the nylon handle, but besides all of that, I'd say I definitely got my money's worth! Only one complaint about the whole thing - that is the sheath is a little tight and it takes a little wrangling to get it out, which from a tactical point of view is terrible, but then again, I just got it a few days ago, and I haven't broke the leather in yet, so we'll see......
