This thing is pure destructive power in the hand. You can smash nearly anything with the hammer side and the pointed end can poke through 1/4' steel with ease. Have an old car sitting around that you want to destroy? Then you need one of these beasts! The langetts, which are not shown in the picture are the metal protectors that the other review speaks of and the whole thing is very easy to put together too. All you really need is a phillips screw driver and something to make a little pilot hole in the handle with and the screws go right in, I used a finishing nail. The head says in place nicely by friction fit alone and the langetts do hold it up as well. Buy one and feel the power!

This warhammer rocks, if for no other reason than because it is a real, functional, capable war hammer. The spike on it is about 3 1/2 to 4", btw. Decent. I would not want to be on the receiving end.
Be warned, though assembly is required. No, you don't really need a 1/32" drill bit (who on earth has one of those?) like the instructions say, you can tap the screws by hand just fine. Also, the picture show is actually less than what I got. It has metal "slats" about 8" long that go on the sides of the handle just under the head to keep it from slipping down and reinforce the impact end of the handle.
Freakin rocks!
