I do believe that my SOG Flash II is one of, if not the best folder I have carried with me. I have carried this knife for almost 6 months now with NO problems. I have sold of given this knife to some friends and family after they had a desire to not give it back. They haven't had a problem with it earthier. I am a Blade Master and a big collector of various knives. So when I say that this IS one of the best knives I have known to carry, that says something. The AUS 8 is in the middle of the AUS Steel family. It is VERY GOOD Steel. Holds good edge, sharpens easy. The handle is comfortable to the hand and the assisted opening is flawless and quick. At this price(witch is the best anywhere you will find) you can afford to try it out.

My SOG X-Ray Vision is awsome, one of my favorite carry work knives. Top notch quality, five years old.
The Flash II is a beater. I grab for one of the Meyercos I bought in bulk as beaters before the Flash II.
The blade is fantastic. Sharp as the dickens. The spring assist is almost non existent, the blade plays 1/8'' in every direction. Though the lock has never failed, it feels like it never fully engages. The clip allows the knife to ride low which is good, but if you snag it, it is useless to try and bend it back.
Perhaps I got a lemon. www.thebladeshop.com has the lowest prices on this and most every other knife, stick with the upper side of the SOG line, my Flash II stays in the box because I cannot in good conscience give it to a friend.
