Description   Comes with an instructional DVD video!! Chances are you've heard it said "a sharp knife is safer than a dull one". We believe this quote originated from first hand experience and find it to be true. The Sharpmaker was Spyderco's first product, which we made and sold before getting into the knife business. It's true -- First we made things sharp, then we made sharp things. The Tri-Angle Sharpmaker includes two sets of high alumina ceramic stones: A pair of medium-grit (brown) stones for aggressive sharpening and a set of fine (white) stones for professional grade finishing. The stones are triangular for sharpening Plainedges on the flat sides and SpyderEdges (serrations) on the corners. A furrow running the length of each stone lets you sharpen pointed items like fishhooks, darts and awls. Included is a set of brass safety rods protecting the users hands while sharpening. All components snap into the self-contained ABS plastic base and lid -- ready to travel with you. Die-cut into the base are keyed slots and holes fitted for the stones. They accurately set the stone's sharpening angle at a 30 (15 each side) or 40 (20 each side) for knives and a 12.5 scissor setting. Turn the base over, a channel lets you lay two stones side-by-side (flat-side up) for use as a benchstone. The lid snaps halfway over the base creating a handhold for stability while you're sharpening. Included is a set of brass safety rods to protect the users hands while sharpening. Ceramic stones, like glass, will break if dropped -- handle carefully. Use them dry, without oil, water or lubricants. To clean: scrub stones with a plastic scouring pad and powered abrasive cleaner, let air-dry.   Related Products... Spyderco Triangle Sharpmaker November 2, 2009 Reviewer: Sajida Long from Flagstaff, AZ United States   I received this not to long ago, and already I've sharpened all my knives with it. It does't matter if its serrated or plain blade. If its Cold steel or BenchMade, or SOG, or Rigid, to LeatherMan, this sharpener handles it all!!! I highly recommend this one, it is AWESOME!!! Spyderco Sharpener November 9, 2008 Reviewer: Cary H. from Cordova, AK United States   I have had this sharpener for several years now.  This system is incredible!  All of my knives (regular & serrated, kitchen, hunting, fishing, utility systems) are razor sharp.  I have several friends that have bought this sharpener because they have used my sharpener. My elderly parents bring me their high dollar kitchen knives to sharpen as well.  This sharpener is almost idiot proof & is very user friendly.  I have used other sharpeners without very good results.  After I got this one I gave my stones and other sharpeners away, always with the caveat that free is good, but I wouldn't waste my time, just buy one of these.  This sharpening system packs away nicely and is about the same size as one of my large stones used to be.  It is small enough that I carry it with me on hunting and fishing trips.  In fact, I carry this in my backpack when hunting big game so that I always have a sharp blade to get the job done properly.  I highly recommend this product.  Thank you Spyderco! Sharpmaker September 20, 2008 Reviewer: Judson Quicksall III from Temple, TX United States   This is by far the best sharpener I have ever used. It's practically fool proof, even more so if you watch the DVD that comes with it. I have used this to sharpen kitchen knives, serrated knives, pocket knives, and scissors.
