Boker Warranty Info

Welcome to the Boker USA warranty/sharpening information page.

On this page, we will provide answers to your questions regarding the Boker warranty, repairs, and sharpening of Boker ceramic knives.

Our warranty has been in effect for over 135 years. Any Boker product that is defective in material or workmanship will be repaired or replaced by us at no charge to the customer. Our warranty reads:

"Every Boker product is guaranteed to be free from defects in material and workmanship for the life of the product for the original owner. If this item should fail under normal use, we will repair it or replace it at no charge with an item of equal or better value."

To better help you understand if your product is covered under warranty, the following items are normally not covered under warranty although exceptions exist:

Blade rusting, particularly on carbon steel blades.
Blade breakage, especially after more than a year of ownership.
Handle scales cracking or breaking.
Any knife that has been converted to perform as an automatic knife is not covered under warranty at any time. Boker USA, Inc., honors the Federal law that prohibits the importation or selling of automatic knives. Boker USA does not import or sell any automatic knives.
If you would like to send your Boker knife in for repair work or examination to see if it is covered under warranty, it must be accompanied by your phone number, shipping address, and, if possible, your e-mail address. If we do not have a method of contacting you, we will not be able to proceed with any repair or warranty work. To service you best, please contact the Boker USA

Customer Service/Repair Department prior to shipping your knife to us at 1-800-992-6537 Ext. 21.

Our mailing address is:
Boker USA, Inc.
Attn: Repair Dept.
1550 Balsam Street
Lakewood, CO 80214-5917

We do recommend you ship your knife to us via insured U.S. mail or through United Parcel Service so it can be tracked.

Our ceramic knives are very keen cutting instruments but are not intended for chopping or cutting hard items such as bone, staples, or frozen products and are not recommended for whittling. Due to their extreme hardness, which is why they do not need to be sharpened as often as a steel blade, they are brittle. Therefore, blade breakage or chipping is not covered under warranty. We do provide a sharpening service, which can get out most small chips in the blade as well as restore your knife to its original edge.

For sharpening, please send your knife, along with your name, address, and phone number and payment of $14.95 ($8.00 for sharpening and $6.95 for return shipping and handling) to:

Ross Cutlery
Attn: Ceramic Sharpening
310 S. Broadway
Los Angeles, CA 90013

If you have any questions on our warranty, repair work, or ceramic sharpening, please call us at 1-800-992-6537 Ext. 21.

Buck Warranty
When you purchase a Buck Knife, you buy a knife for life. An explanation of what is covered by our lifetime warranty and how to obtain warranty performance.

Warranty Information
All Buck Knives are warranted for the lifetime of the original purchaser against breakage or malfunction caused by defects in materials or workmanship. This applies to normal use for which the knife was intended, not abuse or misuse. Buck Knives will repair or replace any defective knife with the same or comparable model. If you have any questions about your knife or the warranty, please call our consumer hotline at (800) 215-2825.

Product Warranty Registration
Your knife may have come with a Registration & Warranty form. If it did, you may fill out the form and send it to us. If you did not receive a form, you may download the form here: Product Warranty Registration.

What is Covered
Repair of your knife, including parts and related labor, or replacement with a new knife. To the extent allowed by law, the sole and exclusive remedy under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement. If repair is not practical and replacement involves a discontinued model that is no longer available, then the closest comparable model available will be used for replacement. Note: if it is important for you to receive your old knife back in the event of replacement, please include a note to that effect and include your phone number and/or e-mail address.

What is Not Covered
Damage caused by misuse, abuse or failure to perform normal knife care and maintenance; damage from self repair; machine sharpening; knife loss, including shipping to and from Buck factory; transportation charges to Buck. Abuse, misuse, dismantling or tampering with your knife, or sharpening your knife on a power-driven grinding wheel voids your warranty coverage. For repairs not covered by warranty, please see Knife Care & Repair.

How to Obtain Warranty Performance
Describe your problem
Write a note describing the problem with your knife. On the note, be sure to include your name, address, phone number and e-mail address (if applicable).

Wrap your knife
For safety and protection of your knife, please put it in the sheath, if you have one. If not, please wrap your knife (cardboard works well) so that it is protected during shipping and that the point does not cut through the packaging (particularly for fixed blade knives). After we have worked on your knife, we will return it in your sheath (or in a cardboard sleeve if no sheath was sent).

Package your knife
Packaging your knife in a box is preferred, but a padded envelope may also work, provided your knife is not too heavy or too bulky. Please put some packing around the knife so it does not roll around inside your package. Please use tape rather than staples for sealing your package.

Send your knife to us
To protect you against the possibility of loss of your knife, we recommend insuring your parcel and sending it trackable by certified receipt (at your expense). Note that cost of shipping your knife to the Buck factory and knife loss are not covered by our warranty. When your knife has been repaired, we will return it postage paid to you. Send your parcel to:

The Case Limited Lifetime Warranty

Case guarantees each and every Case knife to be free of defects jn material and workmanship for the life of the owner.

A Case knife is an investment that will last a lifetime if treated with common sense. Case knives are not intended to be used as hammers, chisels, pry bars or screw drivers.

If you respect your Case knife, you will find it to be a trusty companion and cherished possession for many years to come.

If you believe your Case knife has a manufacturing defect, mail your knife, along with a written explanation of the problem to:
W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co.,
Customer Service Dept.,
Owens Way,
Bradford, PA 16701

If your knife was damaged due to misuse, our repair department can analyze the damage and repair it for a reasonable fee.
Cold Steel Warranty Info

We stand behind our knives 100%. We subject them to the highest standards in the industry and strive to make each one as perfect as possible. Right now our return rate for defects is one half of one percent! This is remarkably lower than the industry standard. While we are growing in popularity, and producing ever larger quantities of knives, we are determined to never forget that we live or die by a single word, QUALITY.
Our fixed blade sheath knives have a 5 year warranty to the original owner against defects IN materials or workmanship. Our folding knives are likewise warranted for 1 year. If you ever have a warranty problem with one of our knives, please return it with your original receipt and a short note and we will be happy to evaluate the problem and resolve it.
(NOTE: Do not send your knife back by way of the U.S. Post Office. We recommend you send it U.P.S. insured.) Please remember ANY knife can be broken or damaged if subjected to sufficient abuse and that all knives eventually wear out (just like your boots) and must be replaced.
Columbia River CRKT Warranty Info Emerson Warranty Info Gerber Warranty Info
THE CRKT LIMITED LIFETIME KNIFE WARRANTY

This warranty covers any defects in materials or workmanship. If one of our knives ever breaks or fails because of material or manufacturing defect, well replace the knife.

This warranty runs as long as you own your knife. Coverage ends if you sell or otherwise transfer the knife to someone else, or if your CRKT knife is modified in any way.

This warranty does not cover breakage or failure due to misuse of the knife. Knives as good as ours rarely break or fail because of a defect. Usually they break or fail from what we call “tool abuse”—using them for unsuitable tasks like prying or pounding. Therefore, blade tip breakage is not covered by our warranty. Use of a knife for any purpose other than cutting voids the warranty. So please match the tool to the task, and use your knife only for cutting. The knife will last longer, and youll be safer too. This warranty does not cover failure of mechanisms due to your failure to properly maintain them.

Also, consequential and incidental damages are not recoverable under this warranty. Some states do not allow the exclusion of limitation of consequential damages, so this exclusion or limitation may not apply to you.

Misuse of your knife can cause serious injury or even death. It can also cause your knife to break or fail and the CRKT limited lifetime warranty will not apply. Failure to properly maintain your knife also may cause its mechanisms to not function properly, which could result in injury to you or damage to the knife. Follow the dos and donts which are included in your CRKT knife package and the knife will last longer and youll be safer too.

THE CRKT ACCESSORY WARRANTY.

CRKT accessories, including deployment systems, and sharpeners have a one year limited warranty against defects in material or manufacturing.
EMERSON GUARANTEE POLICY

Congratulations on your selection of an Emerson knife. You can be assured that the finest in design technology, materials, and workmanship have been used to insure that your knife will give you long lasting service and use.

Care and Maintenance

Minimal care is all that is required to insure the maximum potential that your knife can provide for you. Clean the knife periodically and lubricate the pivot area with light oil, especially after exposure to salt water or acidic environment.

Your Emerson knife is built to withstand the rigors of extreme use, but it is a knife, not a chisel, screwdriver or hammer, and it is not intended for use as such. This knife is a cutting tool and is not designed for throwing. Do not use it in that capacity.

Guarantee

Your Emerson knife is guaranteed against defects in material and workmanship and has a limited lifetime warranty, to the original owner. This guarantee is void if the knife has been abused beyond normal wear and tear or used beyond what are considered the normal parameters for a folding knife. It is up to the discretion of Emerson Knives whether to repair or replace damaged or defective items, and we reserve the right to replace old or out of date parts with new parts as necessary. For warranty service ship the knife postage paid and insured with $10.00 for return shipping, directly to Emerson Knives.

Implied Warranty

Emerson Knives will not be responsible for careless handling, unsafe use and assumes no responsibility for incidental or consequential damages, with respect to economic loss or injury to property. Some states do not allow the exclusion for limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

Sharpening Recommendations

We recommend that you sharpen your Emerson Knife the old fashioned way, on a bench mounted stone or diamond lap. The chisel ground blades should be sharpened on the beveled side only, and never sharpened on the flat side. You may remove the burr on the flat side by laying the blade flat on the hone and lightly touching the blade keeping it flat on the hone. Finish by stropping both sides on a piece of leather mounted on a hard flat surface. Never use a motorized or power driven sharpening device. It will ruin your blade. We will factory sharpen your knife if you prefer. Just ship, insured, to us with $15.00 for shipping and sharpening. More detailed sharpening instructions can be viewed at: http://www.emersonknives.com/EK_Sharpening.html
